Today, ARM officially announced the introduction of the Cortex-A15 MPCore processor, which offers five times the performance at the same power level compared to current advanced smartphone processors.
The Cortex-A15 MPCore processor is planned to be manufactured in a 32nm, 28nm process with a maximum frequency of 2.5GHz and is widely used in smart phones, tablet computers, high-end digital home entertainment terminals, and more.

The processor has a wide range of software and feature compatibility to provide effective hardware support for operating system virtualization, software bug fixes, and system operation continuity. ARM said that this processor is the result of ARM's joint efforts with major authorized partners such as Samsung and Texas Instrument. According to the following blueprint for the development of mobile phones, the first smart phone equipped with a Cortex-A15 MPCore processor will be born in 2012.
