Holographic Vector Projection Screen: Give the Children a Magical World of Dreams

Tencent Digital (Compiled: Hamish) Like many people, Jaime Ruiz-Avila is a fan of the "Star Wars" series and his favorite movie scene is Luke. · At the beginning of Skywalker’s adventure tour, robot R2-D2 projected a hologram of Princess Leia. The Princess said, “Come and help me, Obi-Wan. You are my only hope.”

This scene inspired Ruiz-Avila’s interest in holographic technology. Decades later, he finally realized his childhood dream to create the world's first "desktop laser" holographic "display", this monitor named Holovect.

Currently Holovect has landed on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter for fundraising. This standalone monitor has a laser laser function. The compact size makes it suitable for placement in the laboratory or home desktop. It can use lasers to outline 3D objects in the air. image.

"This idea has been in my mind for a long time," Ruiz-Avila said. "My thesis at university was studying holographic space and laser technology. However, the technology's low cost Implementation has only recently emerged, so I have just recently turned my attention to this project. Last year, I developed the first prototype.”

From a technical point of view, Holovect does not project a holographic image, but instead projects a vector image into the air. The entire image projection process is simple and smooth. Ruiz-Avila believes that more and more people will be happy to draw various 3D images for this device.

"Initially, I think that Holovect can only attract the attention of some curious users, but as I show more people, I find it more useful. For example, students can use it to learn molecules intuitively. Structures; people observe objects will not be limited to flat images, but can be observed in three-dimensional space; at the same time, advertisers can also project logos in midair. Now I'm not sure which applications will appear around Holovect, but I Think these applications will be very novel and fun."

If you think this is a good idea, then you can go to Kickstarter for $750 (about 5050 yuan) or more to become an early Holovect user.
