Lenovo officially launched the new ThinkStation P320 workstation at the Develop3D Live conference in the United Kingdom. The product is positioned as a VR-Ready workstation with a balanced price/performance ratio and focused on engineering. The P320 also received ProVR certification and is perfectly compatible with Virtalis VR4CAD. Among them, Pro VR certification is the certification of Nvidia for content design and professional application. Virtalis VR4CAD can directly convert CAD models into VR software. The new ThinkStation P320 workstations are available in two sizes: the tower top chassis and the SFF small chassis. In terms of configuration, consumers can choose Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7 processors, or even the latest Xeon E3-1200 v6 processors. The tower model can accommodate up to NVIDIA Quadro P4000 graphics cards, while the SFF model uses NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics cards (up to two separate displays). For storage, the P320 can support up to 64GB of DDR4-2400 ECC UDIMM memory and up to 4TB HDD or 2TB SSD. The tower model can support up to two M.2 drives, four 3.5-inch drives, and four 2.5-inch drives. The SFF model also supports two M.2 drives, but only supports two 3.5-inch drives and three 2.5-inch drives. For the interface, the P320 offers six USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports. The card reader is optional, but eSATA and Firewire interface options are also available for more external storage connections. The network is provided by the Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8265 Module and Gigabit Ethernet. For the operating system, users can choose to install Ubuntu, RHEL Linux, Windows 7 Pro or Windows 10 Pro. The ThinkStation P320 is scheduled to be available in late April and no pricing has been announced for the time being.
