AMD Launches New Radeon RX 580 VR-Ready Graphics Card

Technology company AMD has been busy lately. In addition to the latest Ryzen processors, AMD is also developing a new generation of architecture called Vega. For many gamers and virtual reality users, this is exactly the new configuration they are looking forward to. In order to fill this blank period, AMD introduced a new series of 500 cards, including Radeon RX 580 VR-Ready.

The latest 500 series is basically an upgraded version of the 400 series, while AMD's target users are PC gamers who are still using the graphics card two years ago or older but want to upgrade the configuration (80% is expected).

AMD claims that for Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: Infinite War, Resident Evil 7, etc., Radeon RX 580 can maintain a smooth 60fps, and Resident Evil 7 can reach 75fps.

The currently disclosed specifications are as follows:

Clock speed: 1340 MHz/1257 MHz

Memory speed: 8 Gbps

TFLOPS: up to 6.2

Memory speed: 8 Gbps

Texture unit 144

ROP: 32

Memory bandwidth: 256 GB/s or more

Memory interface: 256 bits

Radeon GX 580 has been confirmed as VR-Ready and supports Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The graphics card is currently priced at about $220. But there are rumors that last year, GX 480 graphics card users successfully refreshed the BIOS and overclocked graphics cards, making it comparable to the performance of the RX 580.
