Shanghai Establishes Joint Laboratory for Medical Semiconductor Lighting

On July 11, 2012 China (Shanghai) International LED Industry Technology Expo opened at Shanghai New International Expo Center. According to information obtained from the conference, Shanghai has established a joint laboratory for medical semiconductor lighting to study the application of LED light sources in medical applications. According to research results, LED light source can heal the wound, lighten the stain, reduce wrinkles and other effects.

People who have taken X-rays know that after the film is taken, they need to be screened through the film viewer for the doctor to see the condition. However, the light source used by the photographic film machine is a fluorescent lamp, which easily causes non-uniformity and does not adjust the brightness. According to the Shanghai Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Technology Research Center, many hospitals currently use LED light sources, which not only save energy, but also make the light source uniform, allowing doctors to “see more clearly” the condition.

Not only that, LED light source also has a significant effect on wound healing. The treatment of LED light source can accelerate cell division and shorten the healing time of wounds, especially for pregnant women with caesarean section. In terms of beauty, LED light sources have a slowing effect on acne and pigmentation, and can also reduce wrinkles.
