In 1960, he completed the research on lighting design of the National Art Museum of China. In 2002, he served as lighting consultant for the renovation project of the National Art Museum of China.
In 1999, the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall night lighting design won the Beijing Grand Prize.

Zhan Qingxuan: Male, born in 1936, Liaocheng, Shandong. After graduating from Tsinghua University in 1959, he stayed on as a professor. He is currently a professor at Tsinghua University's School of Architecture, a doctoral tutor, director of the Optical Environment Design Institute of Beijing Tsinghua Urban Planning and Design Institute, editor of Lighting Design magazine, and a national first-level registered building. division. He is also a member of the Expert Committee of the Ministry of Construction (City Lighting), a consultant of the China Lighting Society (a vice chairman of 1996-2003, a member of the third division of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE)), and an honorary board member of the Architectural Physics Committee of the Architectural Society of China.
