ã€Shock! Murata announced that MLCC's products will have a 50% reduction in output and increase prices! 】 International electronics business report, March 2, MLCC Dachang Murata issued a notice that the recent increase in demand for high-performance laminated ceramic capacitors in the communications, automotive and other markets, but the MLCC manufacturers including Murata have been Can not meet the overall needs.
Murata said that due to the large increase in overall demand, Murata must focus its production increase resources on small-scale, high-end products with high market demand and difficult production, and have to use "old product groups" that already have miniaturized alternatives. The production capacity will be reduced to 50% in 2017, and its capacity will continue to be reduced in the future.
In addition, orders for “old product groups†such as “0603/0805 size high-dielectric constants and 1 uF or less in electrostatic capacity†continue to be concentrated in Murata as other MLCC manufacturers continue to increase prices, resulting in difficult adjustment of Murata's capacity.
Therefore, Murata will plan to reduce the number of “old product group†orders through miniaturization, multiple supplier certifications, and transfer of orders to Taiwan for other MLCC vendors.
In order to strengthen the management and control of the "old product group" orders are too concentrated and so on, Murata will start to implement the initial price adjustment for the following products, the new order price will take effect on March 2, 2018.
At present, MLCC's major global suppliers include Murata, TDK, Taiyo Electric, Kyocera, Panasonic, Guoju, Huaxin, and Fenghua Hi-Tech, with Japanese manufacturers occupying the majority of production capacity. However, since the second half of 2016, major Japanese manufacturers such as Murata, Taiyo Yuden, and TDK have planned to phase out mid- to high-capacity mid- to high-capacity MLCC products for automotive, industrial and iPhone applications.
Prior to Murata, Japanese manufacturer Kyocera announced the suspension of certain specifications. At the beginning of February, Japanese manufacturer Kyocera Corp. announced that it will halt the production of 0402, 0603 size 104, 105 specifications MLCC by the end of February, these are the specifications with the largest increase in the market, the market shortage, and the largest amount.
Earlier, TKCC's global market share of 7% of TDK also announced in 2016 that the general MLCC fade out.
Japanese manufacturers gradually withdrew, new production capacity in Taiwan and the mainland failed to start in time, coupled with a surge in market demand, leading to a tight supply of the MLCC market for the whole year of 2017, and MLCC manufacturers such as Guoju and Fenghua Hi-Tech all went through several The round of price increases, Fenghua Hi-Tech President Wang Jinquan used "ups crazy" to describe the MLCC's price increase.
By 2018, the trend of MLCC stock price shortages continued, and Murata CEO Maruyama Inoue also said in an interview with an international electronics business recently that the combined production capacity of the world's largest MLCC companies could not meet the soaring demand. MLCC is out of stock. The situation will not be relieved until the end of 2018.
It is reported that, due to continuous Blizzard in Japan's Honshu Island, Murata multi-site factory shutdown, it is now announced that some products reduce production by 50% and part of the price increase, coupled with Kyocera's suspension of production, MLCC market may usher in more serious stock price surges .
