Background: A recent customer used ScalerIP in Vivado to design and encountered a strange problem. The process is like this. In order to get familiar with the usage of scalerIP as soon as possible, he built a basic simulation environment in vivado. The scalerIP is configured into a 1:1 amplification mode, fixed resolution, fixed parameters, and input and output are all axistream interfaces. But when the simulation environment ran, he found that although the input and output axi-stream control signals (including valid, ready, sof, last signals) are normal, the output data is always 0.
I first helped the customer check the input and output axi-stream control signals, confirming that these signals are correct, as follows. That means the problem may be in the configuration of the IP.
The customer's IP configuration interface is as follows, the problem is leaked out, the original customer did not set the filter coefficient initialization file, so that all the filter coefficient values ​​are 0, of course, the final output is also 0.
Xilinx's Scaler IP provides a default set of filter coefficients for customers to choose from. You can choose the following settings in the CoefficientFile column:
