This is another LED project that has settled in Huizhou since the establishment of the global LED giant US Career. It has made the city's LED industry chain more and more perfect.
According to Yang Pengfei, director of the Zhongkai High-tech Zone Management Committee, LG Innotex is currently one of the best LED manufacturers in the world. The project has an investment of more than $100 million, including LED packaging, backlighting and lighting applications. It will be put into mass production in August this year. The project is the first investment in LG Innotex's global $1 billion LED project investment, with an estimated annual production value of $1 billion after mass production.
It is understood that the current LED production and R&D enterprises in the Pearl River Delta have more than 1,000, and the packaging output accounts for 70% of the country and 50% of the world. It is one of the regions with the highest concentration of LED industry in China.
Yang Pengfei revealed that after the project is stable, it will soon introduce the front-end link of the LED industry chain such as chip and epitaxial wafer manufacturing, and its R&D center will also move into Huizhou.
It is understood that the global LED giant US Cree has set up China's first high-volume production LED chip production base in Huizhou at the end of 2009. In addition, Lehman Optoelectronics, Pure British Semiconductor, Xunqiang Electronics, TCL Lighting, etc. have all settled in the Zhongkai High-tech Zone.
The Huizhou Municipal Government attaches great importance to the development of the LED industry. It will build an LED photoelectric industrial park in the Zhongkai High-tech Zone, and strive to cultivate five LED enterprises with an output value of over 1 billion yuan by 2012 and build more than three provincial-level technical engineering centers. It is estimated that the annual output value of the LED industry in the city will exceed 10 billion yuan in 2012.
