The former lacks 50ms carrier-class protection and cannot provide end-to-end QoS; the latter needs to encapsulate and decapsulate Ethernet services to SDH , Which increases the overhead and cost, and also increases the delay, which cannot meet the requirements of the future NGN service for the data bearer network economically.
In order to adapt to the development of the next generation network and fundamentally correct the above deficiencies, there is a constraint between the metropolitan area network architecture and the network construction mode. Based on its understanding of the next generation network (NGN), Fiberhome Networks has proposed an MSPP based on the IP core. Multi-service ring network solution.
2. Multi-service grouping platform based on IP core:
MSPP (MulTI-Service Provisioning Platform): Multi-service provisioning platform, which combines bearer network and transport network technologies, and supports the exchange and transmission of data, synchronous voice and image services on one platform. MSPP can be implemented on different platforms. F-engine M8000 consists of service side interface, packet processing unit and line side interface. Among them, the packet processing unit is composed of six modules including a packet switching structure, a service identification unit, a service processing unit, a packet forwarding engine, a TDM simulation, and a network security protection unit; the line side unit is composed of an automatic protection switching unit and a loop interface unit.

4. Features of multi-service ring network solution
1. Control packets are used to dynamically learn and update the topology, isolate, locate, and recover the faults between each site. In the ring topology, MSPP solves the problem of ring network broadcast storms well, and achieves fast switching within 50ms when a link or device fails.
MSPP supports cross-ring services, the same site can belong to different rings, up to 4 rings. When one of the rings fails, the services on this ring are switched independently without affecting the services of other rings. If a link or device belonging to multiple rings fails, the services of the multiple rings involved will be switched, and the services of other rings will not be affected.
3. Carrying multiple services
M8000 supports multicast data forwarding by multicast entries, rather than broadcast processing. It listens to the client and server signaling through the IGMP Snopping protocol, so that multicast data is forwarded on demand and will not be forwarded to ports without entries, which greatly saves network bandwidth and provides a good bearing platform for IPtV services.
Compared with the MSTP bearer solution, because MSTP is based on Layer 2 switching, it does not support dynamic multicast applications. If you want to support multicast services such as streaming media and IPTV, you must build a multicast bearer network separately, resulting in repeated investment. Although it can implement Layer 2 multicast through RPR technology, the inherent complexity of SDH coupled with the introduction of RPR technology will inevitably bring expensive equipment. At the same price, the MSPP equipment of the Fiberhome network has a great advantage in terms of bandwidth and bandwidth utilization rate compared to MSTP equipment.
M8000 uses TDM circuit emulation to carry TDM services, mainly positioned at the access level of applications, which can fully meet the quality requirements of TDM. MSPP can directly support video by means of expansion card.
