u-blox releases 3G wireless PCI network card reference design for notebooks and netbooks

u-blox released a high-speed wireless PCI network card reference design. This design, named N725, has been tested in practice and supports HSDPA, EDGE, and GPRS standards, and can be used to make PCI multifunction wireless communication cards of industry standard sizes. It supports the global GSM and UMTS standards, thereby providing ublox OEM customers with a ready-made and fast way to integrate the world's fastest cellular communication standard into notebooks, netbooks and mobile Internet devices (MID) . The design is also suitable for high-speed telematics applications such as remote monitoring and vehicle information systems.

The N725 supports a downstream speed of 7.2 Mbps and an upstream speed of 384 kbps. The design is based on world-class baseband and RF components, the firmware has passed comprehensive testing, and integrates 2G / 3G and TCP / IP protocol stacks. In addition to complete hardware design and binary software code, u-blox also provides customers with all necessary technical support to complete product certification and full production.

The N725 is based on u-blox's mature N721 universal 3G reference design and focuses on high-capacity applications. It is optimized for mobile computing products that require PCI standard-size boards. Its design complies with PTCRB, R & TTE, GCF, FCC and IC standards.
