How to set the roof waterproof

The general principle of roof waterproofing treatment is: it should be unsuitable for blocking, that is, to ensure that the node can smoothly drain the water during the storm water accumulation to ensure that the roof does not leak.

For the case where the original roof must be damaged, it is necessary to adjust to the local conditions and handle different treatments according to different situations. Let us look at the classification below.

Concrete flat roof waterproof

For new buildings with concrete flat roofs, bolts should be pre-embedded at the time of design and the roof should be waterproofed according to normal practices. For the existing buildings, when the photovoltaic module base is set, the waterproof layer should be laid on the upper part of the base and the metal embedded parts, and sealed around the anchor bolts, and the waterproof layer is filled with waterproof sealant. In addition, an additional waterproof layer can be added under the pedestal, and even if the top of the pedestal leaks, the rain will not reach the structural layer.

How to use chemical anchor bolts

For existing buildings with concrete flat roofs, if chemical anchor bolts are used to secure the brackets, the thickness of the protective layer or the facing layer should be confirmed first. For prefabricated floor slabs with a large load per unit area, a concrete layer of a certain thickness can be cast on the roof. After solidification, the brackets are fixed by chemical anchor bolts.

For the slope roof of the overlying tile, the depth of the hole should be confirmed. After the chemical anchor bolt is fixed, the position of the bolt passing through the tile should be treated well with a waterproof sealant. The chemical anchor bolt has the advantages of large bearing capacity, anti-fatigue and aging resistance, no expansion force on the base body, no crushing stress, and therefore no adverse effect on roof waterproofing.

Metal roof waterproofing

For metal roofing, the steel structure of the photovoltaic system needs to be penetrated into the original waterproof layer and the profiled steel plate, and fixed on the main steel structure of the building; and then the metal roof waterproofing method is adopted to carry out steam separation, heat preservation and waterproof treatment. The focus of the construction is to rust, seal, and apply waterproof coating to the base and the periphery.

For the local leakage point of the metal roof, it should be coated with high-quality neutral weathering sealant; for the color steel plate with severe local corrosion, it needs to be replaced before installing the PV module.

Therefore, the installation design of photovoltaic modules should not only consider sunshine and shadow, but also the issues of load bearing, drainage and waterproofing.
