The ADM2483 is an isolated RS485 transceiver from ADI that integrates ADI's patented icoupler isolation technology, which is equivalent to integrating three single-channel optocouplers and one RS485 transceiver at 500Kbps. The package is SOW--16. There are several advantages and points of attention in the application:

1. Small size: Originally we used three 6N137 and one MAX485, and one DC-DC isolated power supply module to do RS485 communication interface isolation, but these only use one ADM2483 and one DC-DC isolated power supply module. Because the magnetic isolation technology is voltage type, there is no need for an external current limiting resistor, and the front end supports 3.3V/5V power supply, which greatly simplifies the circuit and improves performance.

2, unique power monitoring function: ADM2483 has a power monitoring foot PV, the function of this pin is power supply monitoring, when the power supply is lower than 2.0V, this pin is set low, ADM2483 does not work, when the power supply is higher than At 2.0V, this pin will automatically be set high, and the ADM2483 will work. Generally, in practical applications, it will be set high or left floating. (Note: It is better to connect a 10K pull-up resistor when setting high to prevent the current from being too large. 3, A, B bus terminal: ADM2483 internal integrated RS485 transceiver, with thermal shutdown and input failure protection. However, the ADM2483 does not have ESD protection function (up to 4000V in human body mode). Therefore, the bus terminal needs to be protected. The value I actually tested is that it can reach ±8 after only accessing the 6.7V TVS tube. kV contact discharge, so for some basic applications, it is good.
