1. Place the sample in water containing humectant and soak for at least 12 hours until saturated and remove air bubbles. The humectant used 0.1% V/V sodium alkyl benzene sulfonate.
2. Remove the high pressure chamber (see Figure 12 between the instruments) and install the test piece (5) on the holder (6). The sample requirements: the sample should be clean, the surface is free of dirt, no visible dirt or creases, and must not be folded. It should be placed in a flat place and no load should be applied to it. Then install the high pressure chamber and tighten the high pressure cylinder nut in equilibrium.
3. Open the water valve (3) and (1) inject the clean water source into the high pressure water tank (2). Until the water level on both sides reaches a head difference of 50mm (11). Turn off the water supply. If the water heads on both sides of the sample are not balanced within 5 minutes, look for unclean air. Open (13) the exhaust valve to re-vent. And noted in the test report.

1mm. After the head is stable for 30s, the drum is collected in the specified time period (8). The permeate water collection tube passes through the instrument's permeate water volume, the volume is accurate to 10mL, the time is accurate to s, and the permeate water volume is 1000mL, and the time is at least 30s.5, respectively, the maximum head difference of 0.8, 0.6, 0.4 and 0.2 times the head difference. Repeat the procedure in 2.3.4 above, starting with the highest flow rate and ending with the lowest flow rate, and record the corresponding amount of permeate and time.
6. Record the water temperature to the nearest 0.2 °C.
7. Calculate the results according to the corresponding standards of T1141-2006.
After the vertical penetration test of the geosynthetic material is completed, the drain valve (4) is opened, and the water of each part is drained. Clean the surface of the instrument.
