Littelfuse , Inc. today announced the introduction of the smallest (5.0 x 5.0 x 4.2 mm) square gas discharge tube ( GDT ) on the market today with 5 kA surge capability and ≤ 0.7 pF off-state capacitance. The SH Series GDT is designed to provide a high level of protection against fast rising transients caused by lightning interference. Its low-off-state capacitance meets the requirements of high-bandwidth applications, and its capacitance does not change with the voltage signal across the GDT . This series is specifically designed to protect electrical, multimedia, and communications equipment from damage caused by overvoltage transients.
